A book by Kim Schulz - Second Edition (2014)

This book contains a timeline of the damages and effects that the Deepwater Horizon Disaster (also known as the BP Oil Spill) has had on the Pensacola area beaches of Florida.  It is also a portrayal of the people who work and live along the Gulf Coast.

It was the year 2012, when I first published this book.  I was still pretty angry at what happened to our piece of paradise at that time, but I still included that emotional aspect, when I revised the book, in order to keep the story as true as possible.  Although I try hard not to be negative, I am after all, human.

And just like the water that is constantly changing and shifting the shoreline, so are emotions to the human spirit.  We evolve.  We view life with new eyes.  Our knowledge grows, and we become aware of the how connected we really are to the living Earth Mother, as well as to each other.

When I look at the water, I see my reflection.  I have to ask, what part of the oil spill is reflective in me?  How are my thoughts and actions effecting the environment that surrounds us?

It’s questions like these that embark magical journeys that feed the heart, and free the soul from fear.
